Firearm Compliance & Regulatory Information

Ballard Supply Co. is a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL) operating in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

1. Receiver-Only Sales

Certain products listed on this website consist solely of a frame or receiver, which is defined under RCW 9.41.010 as a part of a firearm. These items are not complete or operable firearms.

Ballard Supply Co. does not sell or offer for sale any item that meets the statutory definition of an “assault weapon” under RCW 9.41.010 and RCW 9.41.390.

All receiver transactions are subject to:

• Required federal and state background checks
• Applicable waiting periods
• In-person identity verification
• ATF Form 4473 completion
• Secure transfer procedures

2. Transaction Controls

Ballard Supply Co. maintains safeguards to ensure lawful transactions, including:

• Age verification at site entry
• Customer acknowledgment of compliance with state and federal law
• Checkout controls preventing mixed transactions that could include serialized receivers and other regulated components
• Fraud detection and billing-name verification
• Appointment-based transfer process

3. Washington Law Notice

Washington law regulates the manufacture, importation, distribution, sale, and offer for sale of “assault weapons” as defined in RCW 9.41.010.

Manually operated firearm configurations (e.g., bolt, lever, slide, pump) are excluded from that statutory definition.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that any future assembly of a receiver complies with all applicable laws.

4. Regulatory Transparency

Ballard Supply Co. completed a federal ATF compliance inspection covering operations through July 2025 with no violations cited.

The company responds promptly to lawful trace requests and regulatory inquiries.
